Full-Time Business Development Manager – Asset Management, EE

Job Description


Rated asset management team in Cape Town seeks an experienced Business Development Manager to join their team of well experienced investment professionals. Role is new business focussed and a solid track record of sales and distribution within financial services (ideally asset management and institutional clients) is sought.


The role in a nutshell:

To develop and implement the business development distribution strategy with a focus on existing clients. To represent the brand through building strong client and stakeholder relationships and networks, to increase AUM.  Working with teams internally to influence product development, identify and converting client and market needs into business opportunities for the business. Formulate and implement strategies for a portfolio of existing clients. Management and oversee client retention and growth strategy. Strong relationship management, giving direction to client strategies, event strategies and opportunities to enhance client experience growing strong and lasting client relationships. Ideal candidates will have a proven track record of sales and distribution within financial services, preferably within asset management. Additional info available on application.

Qualifications and experience required:

  • Minimum of BCom degree or similar
  • Minimum of 10 years’ financial services experience, with extensive sales and distribution experience in an asset management environment servicing institutional client landscape
  • Must have a solid understanding of financial planning, investment consulting, employee benefits consulting and multi-management
  • Some exposure to the unlisted and alternative assets space such as private equity, corporate credit, direct property and renewable assets would be welcomed.
  • Must have solid experience in client relationship management, marketing, client services and institutional sales
