Full-Time Regional Sales Manager – Retail Investments, EE

Job Description

Key role has opened up within the Retail Investment sales arm of a financial services group to manage their team of Retail Investment Consultants in the Jhb area as their Regional Sales Manager.  We’re looking for a minimum of 7 – 10 years sales leadership experience in the retail investments space with a solid track record of managing a sales team in retail investments. Minimum of a completed relevant degree plus CFP and experience managing a sales team. This is a sales team management role, so your strong sales experience in this space will be required to assist and drive this team to excellence! You will not be an account manager yourself, but a regional sales team and business manager.

The role in a nutshell: responsible for managing the sales teams’ results through enabling others, set and allocate sales targets for the team, review sales targets against performance, ensure profitability of distribution medium by analysing financials, meet financial targets through monitoring, tracking and reviewing performance of the team, build and maintain relationships with relevant clients (IFA’s and NFPs), manage performance of staff by implementing performance agreements, ensuring a clear vision, agreeing on goals and objectives, providing regular feedback on performance, recognising and rewarding achievement etc, mentor and coach staff on identified performance gaps by discussing these performance gaps,  motivate staff to perform and contribute to the success of the business by creating environment of teamwork through engaging with staff (sharing information) and encouraging participation in decision making processes, maintain a capable high performing team and ensure an environment for optimal performance is created by identifying talent pool through conducting career conversations, talent retention programmes etc.


Qualifications and experience required:

  • Minimum of a completed relevant tertiary qualification
  • Honours and / CFP qualification preferred
  • Minimum of 7-10 years leadership experience in retail asset management sales space
  • Must have team management experience, including managing performance, managing budgets, implementing strategic plans and assuming a key leadership role
  • Must have business administration and management skills and business acumen, ensuring staff resourcing is well managed, operation plans, financials, governance and risk controls, operational and strategic planning is managed
